K.V.Kuppam has long been a centre for cotton handloom weaving - so the beautiful Madras cotton was the basis for our trading relationship. All cloth is pre-shrunk, then left to dry on the roof of the tailoring unit. That way, our clothes won't shrink when you wash them. 18 metre long warp threads are stretched out in the streets around the weaver's quarter. The tailors are paid above average wages, but more importantly are provided with full and secure employment all year round. The Society members have a provident fund, retirement gratuity, sickness benefit and health care.

A weaver can produce up to three metres of cotton cloth per day.
The K.V.Kuppam Tailoring Societies employ 213 tailors, cutters and hand-finishers to turn the cotton into clothes, bags and many other products.
