Recently it has come to our attention that anonymous spammers have been "Spoofing" our domain name when sending out their spam junk mail. Spoof mail is junk email spam that comes from a sender whose true identity is disguised behind a legitimate website's domain name. In this case the spoof email appears to come from a sender such as [email protected], or [email protected] or any combination of non-sensical letters before the @ symbol
It is particularly unpleasant that these unscrupulous people have chosen an ethical company such as Bishopston Trading Company, which may lull people into a false sense of security.
They have been bulk mailing members of the public (mostly in the US) offering employment with Bishopston Trading Company. This would involve the victim accepting large sums of money by cheque which would be paid into a bank account.
You would be asked to transfer most of the money to a Western Union account (retaining a percentage as commission). Then the original cheque will be returned by the bank and those who fall for the trap loose a substantial amount of money.
If you receive any emails from someone offering employment, who claims to be from Bishopston Trading Company, be aware this has absolutely nothing to do with Bishopston Trading Company.
Please report all correspondence as abuse to your ISP.
The British Police are currently taking the necessary action to catch and stop these people. |
